Happy Christmas to one and all! Hope it is appropriately but not excessively White.

(It turns out my iPhone dislikes sending text messages with large numbers of recipients, so apologies if you didn't get a text - Steve Jobs is the Grinch today. )

Something I did last year was to compile a page of photos from the highlights of 2008. It seemed only fitting to do the same for 2009, so here it is.

Also, verdika was sneaky and added new questions to her end of year meme. I suspect it's because I got mine done first...

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last month I ruled Duluth, Minnesota as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). In January I didn't flush (-1 points). In March I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). In September I set rosemilk's puppy on fire (-66 points). In February I pushed sarakk in the mud (-17 points). Overall, I've been nice (608 points). For Christmas I deserve a Sony Playstation 3! Sincerely, darth_angelus

Facts:

It's -6C out at Gogarbank, outside Edinburgh. It's around -4C in the city centre.
I have a flat in the attic of a building.
My kitchen has no heating in it whatsoever.
My kitchen window tends to collect a lot of condensation if I have the heating on in the rest of the flat.

Thus:
My kitchen window is covered with ice - on the inside of the window.

Thank goodness I'm keeping all the doors shut, but I'm seriously thinking about putting a coat and gloves on when I go to retrieve the hot water from the kettle for my hot water bottles.


We also got a taste of a snowstorm - albeit paltry compared to what the US is having at the moment, it was still pretty good for Edinburgh city centre. We got about an inch and a half of snow in less than an hour.
Yes, I did run all over some nice untouched bits of snow so I could hear it scrunch.

Normally verdika gets these done before me and I steal them from her but this year, I got to them first! :D

While I was away, Felicia Day was kind enough to invite me to the location where that video was being filmed. Not only that but I'm actually in it! Sixth guy in line for the life size Tink doll ;)

It was my first time being part of a professional film shoot, so I found it very interesting to see how things were done. There was a really fun and friendly atmosphere, it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves even though it was early on a sunday morning. It was good being able to meet up with Felicia again and for the first time, Amy (Tink), Sean (director), Kim Evey (producer) and the rest of the crew after watching the show for so long.

Brea Grant (Heroes) and David Blue (Stargate Universe) were also there and they were both fun to meet and chat to. At one point they got ahold of my camera and I later found some fun/random photos they had taken.

It's not often I get asked to be part of the production of a show I enjoy, so I'm glad I had the chance.
